Road or better known as Jalan Daendels,
built in the
era of Herman Willem Daendels, Governor-General of the Dutch East
Indies 36th. Daendels ruled between the years 1808-1811. 1000
kilometers of road that runs along the north of the island of Java,
from Anyer to Panarukan.
This is
one of several greatest tragedy in the history of forced labor in
Indian Land. The
road was completed only in just one year (1808).
But
middle of the construction road so much take the number of victims,
estimated
as many 12,000 people were forced to work for the construction of
the road.
The
flow of the road through the lines to the Carita coast of Batavia,
Caringin, Mount Pulosari, Jiput, Menes, Pandeglang, Lebak up Jasinga
(Bogor).
The
purpose of road construction makes to freight transportation
the
spice out of the area.
Banten
is a place that has the most branches Deandels road, because Banten
enough a lot of produce spice.
